The Renaissance is Now (again)
Ensemble Sospeso formed around 1998, and continued concertizing until around 2014. For a short time as I was transitioning to life in New York City, I helped run the group.
For my first full season of programming with the ensemble, we focused on really big programs for really small performing forces. We also produced a program book for the entire season that doubled as a kind of festschrift for the ensemble, and an object to tie together the programs, conceptually.
For some reason or many others, this book as physical object, which we called The Renaissance is Now, was only made available at our concerts. I like giving it a digital place to live here as well. It was a fun project that I look back on fondly.
Credits are at the end of the book. And yes, hard copies are still available. Just ask.
