Orchestra Sempiternam to perform A Concert For Newtown featuring guest artists Rebecca Ringle and Jihee Kim

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Norwalk, CT on Saturday, December 22 at 7:00pm.

NEW HAVEN, CT (Thursday, December 20, 2012) – Professional musicians from the New York and Connecticut communities have come together to form Orchestra Sempiternam, which will perform a free concert at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Norwalk to benefit the Newtown/Sandy Hook community on Saturday December 22 at 7pm. Conductor Nicholas DeMaison will lead the orchestra, performing works by Fauré, Mahler, Schumann and Elgar. This evening of music is given as a gift to the community in these sad times, and the musicians wish to offer comfort, hope, and an opportunity for reflection.

Donations to the United Way of Western Connecticut’s Sandy Hook School Support Fund will be welcomed at the concert.

The Orchestra is delighted to announce that it will be joined by mezzo-soprano Rebecca Ringle for Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder and Soprano Jihee Kim for other selections by Fauré and Mahler.

Admission is free but donations to the United Way of Western Connecticut’s Sandy Hook School Support Fund will be accepted at the concert. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is located at 208 Newtown Ave. Norwalk, CT 06851.
